Bringing Climate & Sustainability Learning to Life with Involv

The Challenge

Glasgow Kelvin College wanted a fresh, engaging and interactive way to involve students and staff in conversations about climate and sustainability. Traditional classroom approaches often struggled to capture attention or inspire action. The College was looking for a method that was:

• Engaging – sparking curiosity and discussion.
• Interactive – encouraging participation rather than passive listening.
• Active – getting people moving, thinking and learning together.

Our Approach

Involv partnered with the College to design a solution that combined digital interactive modules on the Involv platform with physical, activity-based workshops.

We delivered a train-the-trainer session for staff, structured in two parts:

1. Hands-on Training (2 hours) - Staff were introduced to the Involv platform and shown how to use its interactive modules to spark discussion and learning. At the same time, they were trained in how to run a complementary physical workshop designed to work within a 60-minute format.
2. Practice in Action - Staff put their training into practice immediately by running a test workshop with volunteer colleagues. This gave them real-time feedback and built confidence in using both the platform and the physical activities.

The Outcome

Staff left the session with:

• A ready-to-run 60-minute sustainability workshop.
• The skills to combine digital tools and physical activities for maximum engagement.
• Confidence to deliver interactive sessions that fit a wide range of student groups and staff.
